유명산은 경기도 가평군 설악면 가일리에 위치한 해발 862m의 산으로 중미산(해발 854m)과 계곡을 경계로 나란히 서 있다. 계곡 주변의 신갈나무, 단풍나무, 쪽동백등의 활엽수군이 어우러져 아름답고 능선부는 억새풀이 우거져 늦가을의 정취 또한 일품이다. 중복부의 잣나무, 낙엽송림 사이에는 임업협동조합에서 설치운영하고 있는 유명산 자연휴양림이 있어 서울을 비롯한 도시인들의 휴식처로 이용되고 있다.

Facing towards (Mt. )Jungmisan across the deep valley, (Mt. )Yumyeongsan with the elevation of 862m is located in Gail-ri, Sorak-myeon, Gapyeong-gun in Gyeonggi-Do. Around the valleys communities of coniferous trees such as Mongolian oak, maple, and Fragrant snowbell are mixed in harmony and make the beautiful scenery.
In particular, the thick colonies of Eulalia around the ridge shows the most magnificent vista in the late autumn. In the forest of Korean pine and Japanese larch around the mountain＇s breast, there is the (Mt. )Yumyeongsan Recreational Forest that is established and managed by National Forestry Cooperatives Federation, and attracts many visitors including those from capital city of Seoul.
