두타산은 강원도 동해시 하장면과 미로면의 분계를 이루는 해발 1.353mdml 명산이다. 남서쪽을 제외하고는 대체로 경사가 급하며 남향은 소나무, 북향은 활엽수림으로 이루어져 있다. 남한강의 발원지이기도 하며 반대편 오십천으로 흐르는 물은 동해안으로 유입된다. 울창한 숲과 폭포 그리고 기암절벽이 조화를 이룬 계곡에는 넓은 반석이 많아 사람들이 쉬며 즐길 수 있다. 월정사의 말사인 천은사 입구의 2,500년된 긴잎느티나무는 보호수로 지정되어 있다.

(Mt.)Dutasan , acting as a dividing zone between Hajang-myeon and Miro-myeon of Tonghae city in the Kangwon-do, is one of well-known mountains with elevation of 1,353m above the sea level. Except for southwest side, in general the other sides are steep with the south side mainly covered with pines and north side mainly covered with broadleaved species. This mountain involves a fountainhead of Namhangang(river) and in the opposite side streams called Osipchun drain into the East Sea. The valleys are gorgeous with the harmony of dense forests, waterfalls, and incomparably shaped rocks and steep cliffs, and there are plenty of flat rocks alongside the water where visitors could take rest and enjoy the scenery. A Zelkova tree of 2,500years old, is standing at the ntrance of Chuneunsa(temple) which is a daughter temple of Weoljungsa(temple).
